REMARKS: This posting is to solicit inquiries for those who want to pursue a career as a C-130 pilot in the Minnesota Air National Guard. This position is a commissioning opportunity for qualified personnel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and prepares for mission. Reviews mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information. Supervises mission planning, preparation, filing a flight plan, and crew briefing. Ensures aircraft is preflight, inspected, loaded, equipped, and manned for mission.
- Pilots aircraft and commands crew. Operates aircraft controls and equipment. Performs, supervises, or directs navigation, in-flight refueling, and cargo and passenger delivery.
- Conducts or supervises training of crewmembers. Ensures operational readiness of crew by conducting or supervising mission specific training.
- Develops plans and policies, monitors operations, and advises commanders. Assists commanders and performs staff functions related to this specialty
TRAINING:
Total Force Officer Training (TFOT): 2 months at Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB), Alabama
Undergraduate Pilot Training: 12 months, various locations
C-130J Initial Qualification: 6 months at Little Rock, AFB, Arkansas
Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE): 3 weeks, Fairchild AFB, Washington
